DESSERT You were the afternoon made glad -- and we these two strawsdrawn on -- even the pies we thought about -- an actual peach shake -- the shared dessert we'd leave -- conducting valuables. And now -- the more poorly said -- I'm listening -- limbs turning in the wind -- a heart transformed -- like steel barn to barn-scrap -- where the courvoisier meant much -- and the excited calm among Thanksgiving company -- parlaying one and one -- seeing the spider watching from the shoulder of the love-seat -- deciding the limits of shut space -- the ways we would share ourselves / the scented air and venom -- the more at risk desiring / the more at risk -- assuming the windy promenade -- the shelter among the shops along Protection Avenue. |
